SYSTEMATIC TALENT ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM

WHAT IS STEP?

STEP is abbreviated for SYSTEMATIC TALENT ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM
STEP is a systematically designed program to educate the students by different aspects like
  • Understand the concept instead of remembering it
  • Acquire knowledge instead of gaining information
  • Expose it in practical field instead of retaining it in the class boundary
  • STEP is an enhancement program for developing skills like
  • Understanding, decision making, problem solving, critical thinking,higher order thinking, logic building, effective communication, mental ability, scientific traits etc.

WHY STEP?

Present system of education and evaluation up to class X is more emphasized on memorizing and regurgitating textbook.
So, the students stay active only for hardworking and memorizing information to get good result and remain passive for smart working and analyzing the information.
Students get good percentage in aspect of exams but do not get knowledge up to the mark.
Students are not aware of their strengths and weaknesses and their real interest area so they often tend to choose wrong stream or career after 10th
Whereas system of higher education and evaluation is more focused on understanding and application of it in real field
So student has to be a smart learner along with hard worker
In this situation, students prepared via spoon feeding face problems in competitive market even if they have an inborn talent.
This STEP helps the students to develop real intelligence in early age for fight on later stage

WHEN?

Right age of starting STEP is 13-14 years

HOW?

STEP contains 6 modules as under
  • Mathematics
  • Scientific Skills
  • Logic Building
  • Social Awareness
  • English Proficiency
  • Personality Traits
Teach these modules with an approach based on competitive exams
Make students more self-learner than teacher dependent learner
Teaching includes interactive learning activities
Immense practice of higher order thinking (HOT) problems
Make them interlink the subject knowledge of Mathematics and Science with surroundings and try to develop their imagination and visualization power.
Encourage them to ask questions and seek answers by themselves under certain amount of expert guidance
Conduct different tasks like quizzes, debates, question making, case studies, seminars etc. for developing their skills in various ways
Periodically check their IQ, EQ and aptitude change to make sure they progress in terms of study and life
Encourage (and sometimes even force) them to participate in various regional, national or international Olympiads to increase their self-confidence and compare their talent on wide platform.
